My Top Resources for Radical Self-Acceptance and Anti-Dieting

I found my way into body positivity, eating disorder recovery, intuitive eating, body acceptance and intersectional feminism through many fantastic podcasts and blogs. (I didn’t invent this stuff, y’all!) I’ve linked to the main podcasts that helped me personally while also providing a framework to learn and grow away from diet culture into a Health at Every Size and anti-diet advocate.

From these fantastic podcasts, I was introduced to LOADS of books, blogs, websites, and social media accounts of people who have continued to inform my views and beliefs. Here are a few other fellow feminist and anti-diet warriors I have learned from or befriended along the way. (I’ve repeated a few from above to link to their websites. Plus, they bear mentioning again!)

Following these women has profoundly impacted my personal philosophy.

I’ve read (or listened to on Audible) more influential books than I can reference, so I’ll just shout out my top six paradigm shifters:

  • The Beauty Myth, Naomi Wolf
  • Health at Every Size, Linda Bacon
  • Body Respect, Linda Bacon and Lucy Aphramor
  • Intuitive Eating, 3rd edition, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch
  • The Intuitive Eating Workbook, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch
  • Body of Truth, Harriet Brown

If video media is more your style, here are a couple of MUST SEE eye-opening documentaries for anyone who has a body in this world – including MEN:

And lastly, a couple of general websites I’ve found educational and impactful along the way.

I have come across so many fantastic resources, I simply cannot include them all. I didn’t even mention the influential Instagram and Twitter accounts I love. However, I regularly come back to the ones listed above. There’s always So. Much. To. Learn!
